SSAFE Board members recently attended the first, hopefully annual, retreat at Pendle Hill, PA from March 10th to March 12th, 2023. SSAFE Board members met each other in person, many for the first time! The goal of the retreat was to discern the best direction for future growth and expansion. Effectively facilitated by Sharon Parks, resident of Kendal at Hanover (Hanover, NH), the group was able to carefully examine the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead — resulting in a considered plan to cultivate relationships with select retirement communities outside of the Kendal network.

The Quaker-inspired retreat was attended by SSAFE Chair, Mary Lindley Burton from Kendal at Hanover (Hanover, NH); Secretary, Lynn Williams from Kendal at Longwood (Kennett Square, PA); Treasurer, Scot Drysdale from Kendal at Hanover (Hanover, NH); and Board members: Mike Burke, Collington, a Kendal affiliate (Mitchellville, MD); Ben James, Kendal at Crosslands (Kennett Square, PA); Dulany Bennett, Kendal at Hanover (Hanover, NH); (Bob Gettings, Kendal at Lexington (Lexington, VA); George Alexander, Kendal at Longwood (Kennett Square, PA); and, Ted Wolner, Kendal at Oberlin (Oberlin, OH).
