Folks at the Admiral at the Lake, a Kendal affiliate, are on the right path (to Net Zero)! A recent announcement highlighted two new energy saving projects; LED Lighting & NEST Thermostats initiated by Facilities Management Liaison Committee (FMLC) and key residents. Partnering with ComEd, their local utility provider, the community enrolled in a program resulting in over 500 new LED light fixtures with installation free of charge! In another partnership with ComEd rolling out in the fall of 2023, every resident will receive a free Nest “smart” thermostat which will allow residents to create energy-efficient schedules.

Imagine the energy savings and reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions! I’m sure the carbon footprint at The Admiral will be heading just a little faster to zero with these two new programs.
