You’ve likely heard of an energy audit, but have you heard of a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Reduction Audit? What is the difference?
Although there is significant overlap, the GHG Emissions Reduction Audit prioritizes the climate by suggesting ways to reduce the most greenhouse gas emissions. The energy audit prioritizes saving energy.
The document (shown left) from Better Climate Challenge (US Dept. of Energy) “Emissions Reduction Audit” effectively compares features of a traditional energy audit with the additional items to consider when reducing GHG emissions is a priority.
