May General Meeting: 05/07 at 11 AM ET: Heather Holm, From the Canopy to Ground Layer, Building Soft Landings with Keystone Plants for Pollinators

Join us for a presentation by Heather Holm, a pollinator conservationist and award winning author of four books including the multiple award winning Bees and Wasps. In this presentation, she will explore the powerful connection between keystone plants and the insects that depend on them, showing how to implement “Soft Landings” in landscapes of all scales from home gardens to larger managed sites. She will share how this innovative habitat design strategy focuses on creating mini ecosystems beneath native trees to support pollinators throughout their life cycles.

Drawing on her deep expertise in native bee and plant interactions, she will offer practical guidance on site preparation, building resilient plant matrices of sedges, grasses, and flowering keystone species, and examples of how to transform conventional landscapes into thriving sanctuaries for bees, caterpillars, and other beneficial insects, leaving participants equipped to design and install plantings with purpose and impact.

Please note, this presentation will not be recorded. If you wish to hear this presentation, we hope you will join us at the meeting.
