About the RWD No-Idle Policy Case Study:
Unnecessary idling is a major environmental concern. In the U.S., it wastes an estimated 6 billion gallons of fuel each year and produces about 30 million tons of CO2—equivalent to the annual emissions of 5 million cars. A no-idle policy is a simple, actionable step we can take to support both environmental stewardship and community health.

Objective:
To promote the adoption of a comprehensive No-Idle Policy by RiverWoods Durham management with the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving fuel, and improving air quality on campus. Additionally, to raise awareness among residents, staff, and service providers about the environmental and health impacts of unnecessary vehicle idling.
