ASK SSAFE is a private email-based Listserv for SSAFE members. A Listserv is simply a group email system. When you send an email to the group, everyone who is subscribed receives it in their inbox. Likewise, when other members send a message, it comes directly to you. This makes it easy to ask questions, share experiences, and exchange ideas without needing to log into a separate website.
Who can join
At this time, the ASK SSAFE Listserv is available only to registered resident members of SSAFE. We may consider opening this, or a similar Listserv, to administration and staff in the future.
What you can do
- Ask SSAFE-related questions to fellow members across chapters nationwide.
- Share experiences, practical tips, and encouragement.
- Collaborate with residents who are committed to environmental sustainability.
How it works (quick example)
- Jane emails a question to the group address.
- All subscribers receive Jane’s email in their inbox.
- John replies to the group. Everyone sees the reply and can add their thoughts.
- The full discussion is visible to all subscribers, right in their email.

How to Subscribe
To subscribe go to: https://ssafe.groups.io/g/ASK-SSAFE – and click on the blue button on the bottom of the page titled: “Apply For Membership In This Group”
- You will be asked to confirm your email address and create a password.
- Once you do, the page will show some red and green banners across the top. There is no need to take additional action unless you would like to add an optional photo to your profile.
- When the moderators have verified your SSAFE membership, you will receive a series of “welcome” messages. (Apologies for the multiple system messages, they are sent to ensure privacy and safety of the Listserv.)
- Optional: If you choose to subscribe via email using: ASK-SSAFE+subscribe@SSAFE.groups.io you will be sent an confirmation email. Simply reply to it to confirm your email address.
After you join, it may seem like nothing is happening. 🦗 This is because no one has participated in a conversation since you have joined. To start a conversation on a new topic, send an email to: ASK-SSAFE@SSAFE.groups.io

- Use a short, descriptive Subject line.
